Access to Optimal Leadership created its name on the basis of this principle: I am my brother's keeper. Our Nonprofit is 110% committed to creating opportunities for success for the at-risk communities within the United States. Older kids (9-13) and young adults (14-25) are perfectly aged for our 1 on 1 Mentorship Program following the completion of one of our leadership programs. Within these programs graduates begin to integrate the principles of integrity and honoring your time with a trusted mentor holding them accountable to their commitments.
In life, our many commitments of family obligations, school/student, work/professional, friend, companion, teammate, and the list can continue to be extremely overwhelming! Asking for a mentor and having a set of objective eyes to look at a situation can really help.

Mentorship coaching opportunities present a wonderful way for us to engage our local community leadership in an effort to engage spiritual and emotional support for our at-risk populations.
Most of the meetings with your mentee would occur at an arranged site location, then a few of the meetings may require you to invest in a positive “social experience” for the mentee. Typically events like eating at a restaurant, attending a sports game, attending a movie, or going for a hike at a park have been used before. The Mentor-ship program requires a brief phone interview with a follow up physical meeting if considered, a written agreement of terms the mentor must agrees to, and the signing of a minimum 9 month contract in order to enroll into the program.
This program requires a refundable $100 donation fee upon being accepted into the Mentorship program, which is then reimbursed back to you as a stipend at the conclusion your term. We do this in an effort to both (a) increase the commitment from mentors right away, and (b) provide some acknowledgment of the financial burden mentors will take on by accepting this responsibility.
The Global Education Initiatives offer us countless opportunities to make a difference during the year.
The In-Kind donations that we can use for the schools in our programs are:
For those more bold, we offer the opportunity to make a difference by sponsoring a young child in need and creating a rich relationship with a student at their school. We do this through creating a bi-monthly Pen Pal relationship which helps encourage advancement in literacy and improvement in handwriting skills among the student body.
The Pen Pal program encourages serious parties only to apply given the dependence of an At-Risk youth hangs in the balance. In order to engender committed and reliable mentors, we ask for a $100 sponsorship in order to enroll in this program.
Your generosity, support and contributions will enable us to fund our mission and continue to provide these much needed programs for the youth in our community.
